Winter is definitely upon us as the morning drives are getting colder and the bush is thinning out. But that has not stopped the game from moving around and there have been some incredible sightings of late.

The Styx lion pride has been around. Words cannot describe the magnificence of watching them at sunrise, hot breath from their mouths into the icy morning air.

Karula and cub

Karula the leopardess and her two young male cubs have also become a regular feature.

But one of the sightings of the week for me has to be the one we had of a male cheetah. We found him lying next to a water hole, basking in the morning sunshine without a care in the world.

High tea has also proven to be a great game viewing activity in itself, with herds of elephants, impala, waterbuck and the hippos providing a show around the waterhole at the lodge before the afternoon safari.

Until next time,
